Sevilla vs Arsenal Match Details:
This game will be played at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, Seville – Kick Off time: 15:00 (ET)
Arsenal will have to dig deep into their energy reserves for the trip to Sevilla on Tuesday night.
Sevilla vs Arsenal Preview:
The Gunners travel to Spain on the back of an amazing, yet draining, 2-2 draw at Chelsea on Saturday evening to stay unbeaten in the Premier League.
Arsenal fought back from two goals down in the final 13 minutes and move level on points at the top of the Premier League.
However, it’s a different story in Europe with a win and a disappointing away defeat to Lens in early October already in the Champions League locker.
Sevilla are not exactly flying when it comes to their domestic competition, but the European specialists simply cannot be underestimated.
Over the weekend, Diego Alonso’s side showed there’s still plenty of fight left in their squad as they held Real Madrid to a hard-fought 1-1 draw.
The Europa League champions have drawn five of their last seven games across all competitions, losing just once in the process.
Sevilla certainly wouldn’t sneeze at another draw at home against Arsenal, though considering their first two Champions League games ended in stalemates, a win would be preferable.
There is a feeling that the Gunners would also welcome a point. Arsenal’s record away in Spain is poor with the Premier League side winning just three of their 17 trips to the country.
Arteta’s men have one win and one defeat to their name in the Champions League, with home games against Lens and Sevilla still to come.
Sevilla’s fight coupled with Arsenal’s quality should make for a good watch this Tuesday night.
Arsenal came away relatively unscathed from their derby draw against Chelsea at the weekend. However, the Gunners are still without long-term absentee Jurrien Timber.
Sevilla, on the other hand, will be without Alfonso Pastor Vacas who has a knee injury.
From a betting perspective, we like the look of both teams getting on the scoresheet.
While Sevilla haven’t scored in their last three home Champions League games against English opposition, we have to take into consideration the fact they’ve scored 10 goals from their last five in all competitions.
Backing the draw in the outright market should also offer some good value too.
Prediction:
- Match result – draw
- Both teams to score
